Electronic brain training games do not sharpen the mind or boost the memory, experts have said. I was always a bit skeptical, about this too, what do you all think? Any computer program that is used long enough, you will become an expert, be it space invaders of FSX??

I find, that over the years, with my regular, daily, Flight Simming, Computer problem solving, Piano sight reading, Car Key placement, Shoe location, etc...etc...

..No matter how many times I go through the exact, same procedure, it never becomes any easier to remember what I did last time... :'(...!

Paul....where did I put the other sock?... ::).... ;D...!

I think that should be obvious. Practice makes perfect. I've never tried one of these things but it sounds like the usual nonsense dreamed up by the ad agencies.

I don't do very many these days but find that good old-fashioned crosswords help to keep the mind alert. They also improve spelling, vocabulary & general knowledge. You can do them anywhere & don't need any expensive new-fangled electronic gadgets to play them on.

Well, my brain isn't electronic (technically, I suppose, bio-electric) but it wouldn't mind a memory boost if it weren't too shocking.

"He said the firm's own clinical trials had found subjects improving on memory and attention tests after repeated plays of the game."
That's what's termed memorization in my cranium. ::)

I am sure that with all the various activities I constantly carry out, day by day, almost minute by minute, that my poor old brain often goes into "Overload Mode", due to constantly "Thinking", and shuts down now and again, which results in difficulty in recalling what I just did, or intend to do.... :'(...!

I seem to run on Auto-Pilot* most of the time!... :o...!

Paul...I'm sure I just wrote a shopping list out...or did I?.... ::)....!

* I can pour a cup of Tea, add Milk and Sugar, stir it, and have a shave all at the same time.....without realizing I'm doing it...or remember doing it!

I must admit that my memory is not what it was. Although I find this a tad worrying I don't think playing electronic brain training games will improve the situation.

Now, where did I leave my slippers? Oh, never mind. I'm wearing them. 8-) ;)

I am looking forward to the replies of our younger members once school has finished for the day. All about how good this is in comparison to the replies of our "older members"

I never really find them useful, before long you just learn what the answers are, and can do them without thinking.

I don't bother will "educational" games. I don't think they really teach or the player actually learn. Looks like it is the same case with brain training games.
