I'm amazed that none of our Australian Chums here, haven't popped up with tales of their experiences!

I know that many of them live in the areas affected by these terrible fires.

It makes News Headlines in England every day.

Paul.

Apparently some of those terrible fires were started deliberately. I have two questions.

How can they possibly know that & what possible reason would anyone have for doing it? :o

As the Australian PM said, "There are no words to describe it other than mass murder."  I admire his restraint.

Ericksons are in the air dropping fire retardant.

Which makes me wonder.

What the hell happened to that IL-76?

It's sad yes, and ALL the fire were lit, by people who get their sick kicks out of it >:(. I'm lucky that I'm in a non-fire prone area ;)

We are donating stuff to help the homeless people :)

It is one of the worst fires I have ever seen, definitely worst than some of the California Fires due to the weather down there.

Terrible stuff made even more so by the fact that many of the fires were purposely set. And the death toll only continues to rise. Prayers go out to all those affected. :'(

I heard on the radio that a man and his son set some of the fires. What kind of man does this? Did his parents teach him arson? If it is proved that he and his vile offspring did in fact set fires that resulted in the deaths of humans, then I say throw the book at them...

i can't understand why a home or a town for that matter, doesn't have a safe area around it wide enough to prevent contact with flames...especially in an area prone to wild fires? would that be too difficult a thing to do?

Whenever I look at the areas surrounding Houses, and small Towns, in places like the U.S and Australia, etc, I am amazed that they build, and continue to build, properties in densely wooded and scrub-land areas, leaving them wide open to the danger of fires in fire-prone Seasons!

Those same type of dangers do not seem to occur in England where the occasional tree in a populated area poses no widespread danger!

Some of our members often post photos of the area surrounding their House...and the first thing that springs to my mind is...DANGER! :o...!

A falling tree, or a tree on fire, or dry scrub land, is not something to have near to your house..trust me...;)...!

Paul...spent many hours observing the various Wild Fires in California during the recent yearly Fire Seasons.
