It is merely a coincidence she is a woman but some people should just accept they don't have what it takes to drive ;D

That's just the written test. LOL At this rate by the time she passes the practical test she'll be too old to drive. ::)

Just following on from that.
But did the notion to slow down not enter her mind? It's taught on the test, and to be fair the excuse that she might have caused an accident is rubbish as she should have identified the puddle in advance (again driving lessons teach you to not drive through them)  and adjusted her driving actions to accomidate the situation.
Ever since some little git drenched me with a puddle when I was younger I have sworn I wouldn't do the same, and specifically make sure to avoid them whenever there are people near by.
