There is a public footpath bridleway going around the whole of the new runway.....park somewhere near the holiday inn after you've gone through the two tunnels (coming from the motorway) and cross the road and go up the steps on the other side. There'll be a fairly muddy path (wellies / boots recommended) that takes you round the back of the fire station and along the whole of the south of the new runway. If feeling particularly adventurous you can follow the path under the runway (next to the stream) and get to the other side. If you go further than the other side you can get to the end of the old runway.....

South of 23L/05R (on the footpath...landing on 05R)

Between the runways (north of 23L/05R on 23L Takeoff....note that this side is only good for low light when the sun has moved around)

End of 23R/05L

The path is raised and gets you higher than the fence all the way round, so no stepladder required :)

here's an illustration of the route.....if you fancy going and don't feel like all the walking there's a lane that comes out halfway down the southside path ;)
