I realise that this should be in software, but if you have read the news, it is of huge importance that your Internet Explorer is patched (should have installed FireFox

). I have put it in General because Software and Games may not be on your forum visit list.

The flaw was discovered last week and attacks were "spreading like wildfire", according to software security firm Trend Micro.

"When the patch is released people should run, not walk, to get it installed," said Trend Micro researcher Paul Ferguson.

The security breach allows hackers to gain access to PCs by directing people to infected websites.

Internet security experts say the flaw is dangerous because nothing has to be downloaded for computers to be taken advantage of.

Believe it or not yes

I prefer Firefox (when it works...)
I think the 3.0.5 update fixed my problem though. ("Fatal Error" on Firefox start up.

Heard something like this on the radio. Promoting use of other browsers... Or just watch what you download, use protection software and be a safe searcher.

No browser or system is completely safe. It is like the Windows and Mac virus thing... Windows has more viruses because more people use it (or one of several reasons anyway). If everyone moved to Firefox, users would get hauled under by attacks.

*Uses Firefox for somethings, and IE for the others - because Firefox has plenty of compatibility flaws*

Ahh.. gotta love Firefox ;D

But sometimes IE is required for some things so its not perfect.

If you must use IE, set your ActiveX controls to the "High Security" setting.

I heard on the news a patch was to be released later today.
Makes me wonder if its even safe to link to a site from forum threads untill the patch is out.

Got the patch and good thing, too. My ff browser gave me the fatal error thing again. I guess I am stuck with IE

The patch is somehow making web pages load slower. I am still trying to figure out exactly why.
