She was four years younger than Adolph Hitler and my dad was born on her 25th birthdate (April 20, 1918 -- Manfred von Richthofen was shot down the following day).

More than twice my age. She has seen the invention of aircraft, telephones, electricity,indoor plumbing,automobiles,computers,television,radios,refridgerators,gas furnaces and cookstoves,light bulbs,atomic bombs,microwave ovens.

What an incredibly long life through a most amazing period in history. I can only hope to live nearly as long!

Hard to feel sad for someone who enjoyed so much life... she'll be missed, I suppose, but hey, you gotta go sometime, and she was very lucky.
