Well, don't fret too much over it. The thing was supposed to last 3 months and went 5. That should have given the eggheads plenty of exra data to mull over for quite some time.

NASA does not wase money. In fact, their % of the federal budget is only .1%. When you think about how much they can do with that, and how much they could do with a little more, well, you know where I'm going with this.

NASA does not wase money. In fact, their % of the federal budget is only .1%. When you think about how much they can do with that, and how much they could do with a little more, well, you know where I'm going with this.

No robotics mission is meant to last forever. All things will eventually break down, since no one's there to fix them. Think about Hubble.
