Kimi Raikkonen's New Pad is Just a Bike Ride Away

Get this, if you've heard the news about Kimi Raikkonen buying some place in Phuket, I can ride my mountain bike to that place!
Seriously, this "Serenity Terraces" or something like that is in Rawai, I live in Chalong, and I'm like within a 5-10KM radius of the place.
He even visited my local tennis club and I didn't even know!
My god, this is freaky.
Ashton
P.S. Not really my local tennis club no more, since we got kicked out by this new guy who would behave like he were the best (coach) in Phuket, but so far every respectable player on the island seems to dislike him him...

Indeed, no holiday destination would retain a name that would be seen as obscene in other languages

.
There is a very nice small island a boat's trip away called "Phi Phi Island", and yes the "ph" is pronounced in much the same way as "Phuket"

So.... you really live in Thailand? May I ask what you're doing at the other side of the globe?

I used to live in Hong Kong, but rent was high, getting higher, so we moved to Thailand, where the rent was cheaper.
Then we saw that Dulwich, a fancy-pants school in England, had a Dulwich down in Phuket, and my parents thought that it would be good for me, so we moved down here.
We bought a house, though under another family friend's family's name, and now we live here.
I'm now homeschooled since the owner of Dulwich in Phuket lied through his teeth about many things, screwed everyone over, and whilst the school still stands as "British Curriculum International School Phuket", we left because it just went downhill.
Plus the prices were outrageous, and we'd be paying more for less (than if no change had occurred).
So, as my decision, I decided to be homeschooled instead. It's been going well, I finally found my calling as a computer programmer, tennis coach, and guitar player, I'm due to take a GED test in February to be qualified to get into a computer programming (game-specific) university, which also happens to be an online thing.
Plus the GED test is pretty much a joke, to me anyway, so all should go smoothly.
As for tennis coach and guitar player, my current coach tells me I'll probably be able to take the USTA exam in about a year, give or take, and as for guitar player that probably won't get far since I don't have any friends around who also play instruments so forming any kind of band, no matter how mediocre, probably wouldn't happen.
Now I ask myself, why did I basically write my life's story :-??

LOL thanks for the update:)
Although I doubt that he'll be see'ing it much with something like 9000 to 10'000 km's of testing this winter.

Perhaps a bit unfortunate, yeah, but I read in some article he gets like two weeks off that he'll spend with his family down here.

You don't need a band to make music!

I've done it for 15 years now on my own with no band! Get ahold of Cubase or Protools and have at it!

You already have the talent.

Hmmm, I'm very suspicious of midi sounds.
My main beef with midi sounds is the fact that you can tell they're midi sounds

.
Then again, if you can apply distortion to a clean electric guitar after recording, I suppose the same could be done to midi sounds.
Well perhaps I'll look into it at some point, but I'll just stick with the six guitar covers I managed to record in like half an hour that I've got on YouTube

.

I use no midi at all. I play everything, except faster drum parts, my double bass isn't as consistent as I would like it to be. In those cases I use a drum sequencer, but the sampled sounds are still recorded from my live kit.

Ah, I get it.
So you even have a drum kit and a bass guitar?
I can play the bass guitar and drums, but the only issue I have is the fact that I don't actually own a bass guitar or a set of drums

.
Even worse, I don't even have access to any around here

.
I sometimes wonder why I'm down here...
...then again all I have to do is look up at the "life's story" post I made to find the answer...

Yes I do.

Living in this little town where no one else plays meant I had to learn them all. Nice when I need a change, but keeps the studio kinda cramped!

I just got a violin and it is proving to be the hardest of them all, nothing like I thought it would be. :-/
