McALLEN, Texas - Customs inspectors scored the makings of a barbecue when a 21-year-old South Texas woman declared several soiled baby diapers at a U.S.-Mexico border crossing.

Suspicious of the chunky diapers, inspectors with U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the international bridge in Hidalgo found several links of spicy pork sausage, or chorizo, inside. The diapers had been folded to look soiled, according to a customs agency statement.

The Mission resident, who was not identified after the Friday night incident, was fined $300 and her chorizo was seized.

Not the thing I want to read as I'm finishing last night's sausage and pepper leftovers for lunch...

I've been wondering what kind of sick demented mind thinks to put link sausages in a diaper to smuggle them across the boarder..... :-/

Especially to make the diaper appear to be used.... .....so you can imagine what the sausages where suppose to be.....

I've got to admit the customs person was brave to take a close look at what appeared to be used diapers. But then again, what person in their right mind packs used diapers to begin with.....lmao....no wonder the customs agent got suspicious.....

I half expected to read that in the sausages was condoms full of white powder

Having a 7 month old daughter I can say that there is a big smelling difference between soiled daipers and chorizo sausage......

Oh yes, sausage trafficking is a big problem here in the US.

Yea, I would imagine that some peoples sausages are larger than others.....

Some people are more prone to brag, some to showing off. Then there those who try to hide their sausages. This must be due to feeling of inadequacy....

Then there are those that aren't well versed in the proper use and handling of sausages. They are the ones that try to smuggle sausages in diapers.....lmao

Why didn't she just go to the grocery store and get some?  It's sold all over the southern US, hell I can pick up a few links right next door at the Wal Mart and i'm in northern California.  Must be pretty cheap down there in Mexico for someone to attempt a smuggle run.
