Do you think it will come down to this......

Photograph of a Group of People at a Breadline During the Great Depression

Depression: Breadlines: long line of people waiting to be fed: New York City: in the absence of substantial government relief programs during 1932, free food was distributed with private funds in some urban centers to large numbers of the unemployed.

I imagine things will improve drastically after November 5th....that's as far as I'll go with this because it will get political very quickly.
I'll make one observation, you'll see a difference in the amount of the stock market improvement depending on who wins. This is not speculation, it is historic fact.

I don't think it will get that bad again. There are many things different about this down turn from that one. The main one being that in the Great Depression many banks closed their doors and their depositers lost everything they had in those banks. There are still some safeguards to keep that from happening now, plus not all banks are in the toilet. As bad as this down turn looks, the majority of the public are still working, still getting paid, and still living. A lot of the ones hurting are in the industries that have been booming for the last decade and have finally corrected themselves, such as housing.

That's what I did until 7 months ago when all hell broke lose in the housing market. Suddenly no one needed a carpenter anymore, and now noone wants to remodel anymore either. :-/

Come to my area, not so much in the new home deals but the remodeling seems to be doing fine at the moment.
