I was wondering if there are any marines here that knew some guys from the VMFA 121st squadron, as I snapped some pics that I think are awesome, and since I've decided that after college I will be going into the Marines, I want to send them to the VMFA 121st, especially the one where the person in the back seat is dancing  ;).


Also, if anyone could fill me in on how the Marine's Air program is, please PM or post here, as I've made up my mind on what I'll do in 7 years (when I'm out of college).

BigTruck is currently in the Marines, but he just left this past Sunday for Louisiana for some training. I don't know how long he'll be gone or if he has access to the forums during training?

I'm ex Army so I have limited knowledge of the Marine Corps.

My unit supported quite a few Marine units over in Iraq, but we worked with Armor, Mechanized, and Infantry units on the ground. Though we occasionally had air support, we didn't really have direct comms with them

But looking at the website, it appears that the VMFA 121st squadron is part of the 1st MEF? We were attached to the 1st MEF untill the 2nd MEF took over, and I am authorized to wear both 1st and 2nd MEF patches on my uniform as a combat patch

First off congrats on your decision to join the Marine Corps!!

Second, unfortunately, I am not sure if I know anyone in 121, off the top of my head I do not but some of my old friends may have transferred there without me knowing, I would have to check on the global address list once I get back to work.  I'll give it a look and let you know!
