Steve Fossett conspiracy theory

Postby expat » Sun Jul 27, 2008 11:20 pm

Well, it took a little longer than I thought it would, but here it is;

Steve Fossett faked his own death

Matt
"A bit of a pickle" - British translation: A catastrophically bad situation with potentially fatal consequences.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

"We found six other planes while we were looking for him. We're pretty good at what we do."

-Apparently not if those six planes have been missing for who knows how long..

"That witness claims Fossett asked him to prepare the plane for take off, even though he had never allowed anyone else to do this before."

-Whoopitydo?

"I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm a man who deals in facts, and I don't really care if he is alive or dead, it make no difference to me."

-damn that's cold

I must be pretty naive.

I never would have thought that such an idiotic theory would make it into print.

To be fair, this isn't really anew theory, even from the very start people have speculated that he could have dissapeared to get away from everything. But I'd actually have said, he'd have more likely to have been found by now if he was alive than dead. He's too well known to just mix in with the average person.

Just want to pick up on what BT picked up on
"We found six other planes while we were looking for him. We're pretty good at what we do."

The investigators admitted that some of these crashes were over 10 years old. So they might want to keep looking, if they are "pretty good"
Reassuring words if I do say so myself. Just like I want my surgeon to be, "not to bad" and the guy who's handling any large sums of money I have to be "okay at his job"  ::) :D

I've actually heard a different theory to his disappearance, this with some input from those who actually knew him.  Apparently he had seen the video of the T-6s skiing across a lake in formation.  Some that knew him said he talked about those several times in the days leading up to his disappearance.  Perhaps he was trying to do it and crashed into a body of water.  That would explain the lack of ELT or debris found.

Was he flying a south-southeasterly route?
Perhaps you'll find his plane in the Sonoran Desert and he'll reappear on the Devil's Tower...

It seems likely that he might have been trying to fraud the insurance, but there's no conclusive evidence for that yet, and as has been suggested he could also smacked himself in the body of water. So, where's steve ballard? ;D

I think I'm right when I believe he was taking a Westerly route from the the area of Reno (KRNO), and over the Sierra Nevada mountain range, making for Sacramento...

Following the report of his missing, I spent quite a number of days Sim Flying over those mountains, with the aid of my Relief Map of California and Nevada, and I'll tell you what, it's a pretty rugged and dangerous area to be forced to land, ....and as for finding anything... :o...!!

Any engine problems in a small GA Aircraft above those mountains and you would never have enough height/ground clearance to cruise to a safe landing area!

......I was listening very attentively to the sounds of my Baron' s engines during my search.... ;)... ;)... ;D...!

The only valid point in that entire article is that there's no evidence showing he's dead.  I doubt he faked his own death, but it is indeed possible that he's alive (seen the movie Cast Away?  4 years on an island...)
