I've been searching left and right and have found no info for what I need.

Hmm, I've had similar times.  I'm a volunteer firefighter and carry a pager 24/7.  I've missed several calls late at night despite having my pager at full blast just a few inches from my head.

I've yelled in my sleep, but other then that, I once had a friend while growing up whose family could occasionally carry on short conversations with him while he slept

Well without a doctor a correct and safe diagnosis is out of the question. :-/

I think this is not that abnormal. During the night i know I wake up and sometimes go to the window to see what the noise is and when I wake up I have no memory of the even until hours after I wake up.

Have you been taking sedatives?

A friend of mine was my roommate in college and I would usually go to bed a few hours later than him and when I went to bed, he would start talking and we would have conversations for a few minutes, and he would have no recollection of the conversation.

My brother used to sleepwalk/talk all the time when he was younger. While sleeping, he would get nightmares and panick attacks, and would walk around the house looking for mom, myself, or relatives for help. It would all happen while sleeping, and he has never been able to remember anything the next day. He slowly outgrew it, and it rarely happens anymore

It's pretty odd, but I think it happens to most people in some degree or another.

I know because my dad sometimes sees me.  ;D ;D

Maybe just too much brain activity during the day and the brain is still working when you sleep. Might be caused by your exhaustion. ;)

I'm no professional at these sorts of things, but if it is seriously effecting your job, I think you need to weigh your options about seeing a doctor.

I understand it's expensive without insurance, but what I would do is step back and take a look at your options, if you lose your job because of this, will that cost you more money than a trip to see a doc and potentially save your job?  I'm sure you have already thought about this on your own, but just in case I figured I would post it

[b][size=16] :oOK!, We are not going to play the doctor here ,and even if this were a doctor health forum we couldn't have a correct diagnose .
What you have is serious Triple 7 ,the slepping is not the bigger issue ,the loosing your memory that way Is bad sign , Be careful on medications with Codeine for headache , have you knock your head recently? have you take your blood pressure? DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD BE IRRIGATING BLOOD INSIDE YOUR HEAD FOR SEVERE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE among

Big Truck & Alrot are correct. Money is not important compared with your health. You should see a doctor ASAP whatever it costs. You might be worrying yourself about nothing but it will put your mind at rest.

I find it difficult to believe you're faced with this dilemma in the 21st Century. All I can say is; Thank goodness for our NHS.

That's happened to me a few times as well. What I did was not goto sleep early, sleep really late, wake up on time. Did that for a few days, then pushed back my sleep time. Ended up sorta "rebooting" my sleep cycle.

Also, move the phone away, so you don't answer it while sleeping.
It's most likely still stress - stress screws up everything.

Also, do you have dreams? How many hours do you sleep?

[color=#003300]Well, believe a little easier. I had the military check me for the same thing -- I'd go to bed and evidently get up, turn the radio on and such... I was told my eyes would be open and I'd hold a normal converstation but I had no recollectiion when I got up in the morning. After questions, having wires stuck to my head, etc., I was told I was normal and not to worry about it.
With no dependents, having a job and actually being a citizen, it is much more difficult to get assistance in some, if not most, areas of the U.S.; even with the VA (an option I don't believe Triple_7 has) I have to co-pay.

However, assistance is different per state and I can't speak for Indiana; since this seems job threatening, don't ignore it or let my discourse discourage you from

I'm just mainly trying to figure out if this is somewhat normal or not, I'm leaning towards the not.

I think if this weird "memory lapse" thing occurs only when you take calls before your alarm rings, it's most likely just your brain demanding more "down time" now that you're sleeping better.

My poor brain also rarely gets enough REM sleep; it's always in "survival" mode, so if the phone or alarm rings when I've had 4 or 5 hrs, I'm more or less ready to go. But let me sleep in for a few days, and I'm like a zombie when I wake up. I'm also more likely to slap the alarm clock, roll over, and become unconscious again after a solid night's sleep, with no recollection of it. This is particularly true when I'm switching to a night shift.

And Lord knows I'm useless on the phone before I've had my morning coffee, and that's after I'm already on my feet! ;D
"Temporarily closed for repairs"... ;D

Particularly if one drops back off to sleep after a phone call or conversation, it seems to me that that memory might just go into the recycle bin, along with that time you got up for a glass of water or whatever. Makes sense to me, and it's happened to me many times, although I'm not known for talking in my sleep or "sleepwalking".

Maybe something is wrong with your coconut, and a checkup is never a bad idea, but there's certainly a connection between sleeping deeply and not remembering stuff you did "while asleep".
