It's amazing the out pouring of sympathy for poor Bozo..... :'(

I can hardly wait for ole Barney to kick the bucket.....lmao.....it's gonna be a real tear jerker for so many. I know Mark will be devastated. Ah, yes, those heart felt tears of joy to know that the purple dino is stuffed into a box, never to be seen again.... ;)

;D

You should hear him talk...yikes....  :o

I was just picking with everybody about the lack of response..... ;)

As I said, going by Wikipedia, there's a bunch more. I guess ole Bozo was like an older version of Ronald McDonald. Ronald just didn't have his own TV show (I think?).

Did WGN do anything special like run a week of Bozo the Clown shows? If I remember he had his show at WGN studios.

When I was a wee widdle kid one of the original Ronald McDonald clowns showed up at our elementary school. His real clown name was Cappy the Clown. The fliers printed by the school gave the impression it was Ronald McDonald that was coming. There were a lot of dissapointed little kids when he came out as Cappy the Clown instead of Ronald McDonald.
Frankly, he scared the puddin' out of me.

I'm not familiar with Bozo. Probably not shown on British TV. We didn't have TV when I was growing up & the only clowns I saw were at the circus. The most famous circus clown on this side of the Pond at the time was Coco (Nicolai Poliakoff) who died in 1974. http://clownalley.blogspot.com/2008/01/nicolai-coco-poliakoff-bertram-mills.html
They tried very hard but I never found them really funny. It was an outdated concept even in those days.

According to a recent survey most modern children find them scary. http://www.hospitalhealthcare.com/default.asp?page=article.display&title=Clownsscarechildrenmostinhospital&article.id=6260

"(Signal-reach throughout North America included the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean among others.)"

So the UK was lucky....lmao

This E-Trade commercial - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJqnitjqpuM&feature=related - is a baby that talks and discusses using his money to rent a clown. He says "I really underestimated the creepiness."....lmao

;)
