Several of the haulage companies I have driven for, who carry sensitive goods, have a very simple scheme for avoiding this sort of hijack. A

We have had some cases in L.A. where people have imitation police uniforms and badges and were causing some pretty confusing reports. As far as I know it is quite an offence here.

We had a string of carjackings in Belgium, where the criminals impersonated policemen. They drove up behind the cars they wanted, popped up a blue flashlight, as if it was an unmarked police-patrol. The victim would stop at the next parkinglot or on the side of the road, where the carjackers ordered him/her out of the car, jumped into the car and drove off.

Seems that doesn't happen anymore at this time, but most people didn't want to stop for the real, genuine officers, unless it was in front of a police-office...

Does the London police have lethal weapons?

Not routinely, as far as i know, but i'm guessing they have more armed coppers than say Bristol, due to size, and greater risk of Terrorism etc.

why not give the cops there guns last time I checked having a pistol works a lot better than pepper spray when someones shooting you from 20 feet away

just my 2 cents I dont see why the police there arent lethaly armed

it's ok, cops aren't very likely to hit you. These cops stopped me the other day for loitering and asked if i had any weapons. I carry a 10 inch knife, so they loaded me into there car, drove me to my road and dropped me off and said "Don't loiter with knives larger then 6 inches" and they drove away.  ::)

city cops will shoot you for fun though. and plus cops get tricked out Remmy 700's
