I say Ikea is to blame... they started to put entire livingrooms in flat carboard-boxes. This guy was just confused, because he was driving a scandinavian car...  ;D

My experience with teachers (I am married to one), is that they rarely see the big picture outside of what they have to do. Whist I refuse to defend this guy, he typically of a teacher had a goal, get the kids from A to B. So he packed them in to the car and off he went. It was a secondary task, the primary being what happens once we all arrive. So often I go with my wife on school trips (she always hires a bus and is a switched on teacher), and I see some of her co-workers. They are all of the idea, it will never happen to me. A week or so ago, we took 50 children and three teachers and me to a play. It involved crossing the main ring road at a set of traffic light with a pedestrian crossing. The road is wide and getting everyone across in one go was not going to happen. The option was in several groups or as one group. They decided to cross in one group. If the lights turned green, I suggested that we all keep going. Drivers will see what is happening and will wait that extra 10 seconds. The lights turned red. One teacher then stopped 20 or so children on the small island between the carriageways. 20 children (10 - 11 years old) on a bit of land no bigger than a pool table. Trucks cars buses all
