Reid Stowe goes it alone

I had a feeling it might happen, as she'd been terribly seasick most of the voyage so far... Soanya, Reid's companion and crewmate for his epic 1000-day sail, finally had to give up, about a month ago. She was transferred at sea, near Australia.

I hadn't visited the site in weeks, so it was a bit of a shocker.

But it's for the best, for her own health and safety and the success of the voyage.

Poor Reid- he's done a lot of solo sailing, but this has got to hurt!!
And although Soanya is a novice, she was learning quickly and helping a lot with the chores and keeping watch, even though she felt awful most of the time. Hung in there for over 300 days... that's very respectable.
And of course he will be just plain lonesome now.  :(

My first thought was "Now he ain't going to make it..." but then I immediately thought "Well, if anyone can, it's Reid..."  ;)

Best of luck to him... I think if he can keep himself and Anne together until the halfway point he will do OK.

If any of you have any interest in the voyage, by all means send him an e-mail... I'm sure he'd appreciate it.
