As we've heard, there have been several demostrations during the carrying of the Olympic torch in London today. Whatever - they were political, so need no further discussion.

What did disgust me though was the protestor (a fully grown, not small "gentleman") who decided to try and wrestle the Olympic torch from TV presenter Konnie Huq's grasp. For the record, from IMDB she's a lady of fairly small stature (5ft 3in).

Odd that, you'd have thought, making the moral point that he was, that he'd pick on someone his own size. Sir Steve Redgrave perhaps? Maybe he wasn't a "big enough man" to take on a 6'5" rower...

Originally I think it was Greeks running round in circles and proving how they were better than each other. They then stopped for a few years (until 1896 IIRC), when some chap decided to reinvent them for everyone.

Nowadays they run in bigger circles. In 2012 Britain will also gain the notoriety of being the first country to virtually destroy all of their Olympic stadiums. White City Stadium and the Empire Staduim, Wembley having already been destroyed, and the new place being dramatically reduced straight after 2012. Criminal when you look at somewhere like Berlin's 1936 stadium. Still able to hold top notch sporting events like the 2006 World Cup.

P.S. Can anyone explain to me what all this "Olympic" do-dah is all about?... :-?... ...!

Personally, I reckon watching headless Chickens running round in circles to be much more entertaining than spending Hours/Weeks/Months/Years? watching what is going on in this "Olympic Games" malarkey!......[smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

In the UK's example, it will be to make as much money as possible. I will bet on a fiver plus for a beer at least and a couple of quid for a bag of crisps at any of the venues.

With the latest furore appearing in all the news, over the interfering of a "Burning Stick" , for cryin' out loud, by a number of People associated with an unbelievably expensive, and time consuming exercise in playing silly "Games" in Public!... .... ...!

Surely to goodness, there are more pressing requirements going on in this World than that what is going on at present over this ridiculous "Olympic Games" malarkey.... ...!

All the fuss, and commotion is now getting completely out of hand, in my opinion...!

God knows how much all this is costing the Tax Payers around the World, and does little, I see, in eluviating hunger, disease, and poverty around the World...

Surely, more of this colossal time and expense could me spent on more "sensible" things like that?... :-?... !

Seriously though, whilst they may not agree with how china's been conducting itself there are better ways to demonstrate it than that.... though by the way Fozzer's talking maybe it wasn't china he was protesting about but rather the fact that the olympics exist in the first place...
