yes, you're right... Jacques DeMolay was the grand master of the Knights Templar.
Basically, the king of France tortured Jacques DeMolay into confessing crimes and atrocities that he didnt actually commit. But, when the king wanted Jacques Demolay to confess the crimes and atrocities publicly - and torture him into revealing the location of the knights which had escaped persecution with the templar treasures - demolay knew that if he confessed publicly it would be destroying the reputation of the knights templar and allow the king to find the escaped brethren knights.
he told the king there would be no such confession or revelation of secret information of the order, and was burned at the stake. all the way to the end, he refused to sell out his order and his brethren knights and from the burning stake shouted a curse against the royalty of France. (and we all know what happened to the French Royalty.)
the Present Day organization only uses his loyalty as an example, and is somewhat modeled around modern day masons.
The organization is for young men ages 12 - 21 and is intended to improve their leadership skills, civic awareness and responsibility. They also compete on a state level in many events. and routinely participate in a wide range of local events like paint ball wars, swimming, camping fishing, football, baseball, basketball, and long distance trips.
Notable Demolay members include
Walt Disney
Mel Blanc
John Wayne
Niel Armstrong
and many more.
I was a member and joined when i was 13 and remained active until i left for college at the age of 20. I learned a lot and it played a major role in making me who i am today.
I looked around and there is currently not a DeMolay chapter in my town and im attempting to start one
Just curious if there are any others on the forum! :D
