Did anyone see his press conference?  It was VERY emotional; the guy was crying like a baby.  He will always be one of the best QB's ever...

The last of the old school gunslingers is gone. I really wish I had gone to the Broncos packers game last year, I knew it would be my last chance to see him play.
Oh well, he can now take his place in bar room discussions about the greatest of all time alongside Elway, Montana & Young.

I never understood how they pronounced  FARV  out of   Favre  ......?  :-?
The "R" is on the wrong side of the "V" to be spoken the way the Americans do............
Oh well, the Americans aren't really all that strong when it comes to French pronounciation......

However you say it, I guess he was "OK" for a QB........

I'm kind of late to the party but I live about 40 minutes away from Green Bay so I enjoy talking about it. I watched the full press conference and was almost moved to tears myself. People that don't live around here know that he was a good QB but the missed out on so much that they don't truly understand the big deal it is here in packerland. Brett's whole career he was not only a football superstar but he was a person that any normal human could relate to. From seeing him at the grocery store with Diana to hearing about his fathers death or Diana's cancer things have always happened to him that happen to regular people and you see him living a normal life. The day it first came out that he was retiring when ESPN and all other national networks came out saying how weird it was that he wasn't there it was because he was on a field trip with his daughter. He's a normal family man which makes him so great in my eyes. He's just like me, he just get's more digits on a paycheck.

With that said he will be missed but I truly feel bad for Aaron Rogers because as a radio DJ said "We're not starting the Aaron Rogers era, we're starting the era of comparing Aaron Rogers to Brett Favre and that sucks" I'm looking forward to the season and seeing what the kid can do. He's got a good crew to work with and from what I've seen he's got the goods in his arm as long as he can stay healthy.

Welcome to the problem that san fran, miami and denver have had to deal with for years. It's always the same, well maybe he's the next montana/marino or elway. But then fans get pissy when comparisons are made, but also run the qb out of town if he isn't as good.
