Hello Chums... :)...

You know those Radio broadcasts of Folks wandering around the countryside, or whatever, with just a microphone and a portable Recorder strapped over their shoulder...?

Any idea/details/source of the equipment which they are using?

The sound quality is always excellent...

I tried to get some info from the BBC, without any luck... :'(...!

Paul... 8-)...!

There are a lot to choose from... and now there's been an explosion of very small digital units, some with multitrack capability.
I'm sure most media pros have ditched those old Marantz and Sony tape machines for these; they're much lighter, record better, and don't produce rooms full of cassettes.

Here's an inexpensive one:

Or perhaps m'sieur has money to burn?

Ta Shaun...!

Digital Voice Recorders!

A selection here for me to browse...>>>>

I've got a bit out of touch lately, since my old, massive, mains-powered, 5-1/4 Inch diameter reel-to-reel Tape Recorders...

...and 1/4 Inch wide, reel-to-reel, Tape Recorders...

..... :-[....!

Must have a browse, and select one that the "Voice activation" option can be switched off.....(Manual, push button, Record on/off).

Cheers again Shaun...I'm on the right track now!...;)...!

That little Zoom H4 seems like a lot of bang for the buck... perfect for little home-recording projects or that CD of nothing but motorcycle sounds.;D
Here is a pretty good review:

Looks good but I think it will be a bit more than that Paul. Don't forget that electric/electronic goods are usually much cheaper in the US. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zoom-H2-Handy-Recorder-512Mb/dp/B000WA368Q/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1204582527&sr=8-1

I don't know what the difference is between the Zoom H2 Portable & Handy recorders.
