I think my original title was a bit too crypitc :-/

Looks like our Euro MP's have got a huge boost to their expense account funds. I would imagine a few are already planning how to spend it......on themselves.

Party time

If you get the chance, there was a made-for-t.v. movie called "(The) Pirates of Silicon Valley". It's worth watching. I have to give the man credit, he had the foresight to know the role that software would play in the future and he capitalized on it. But if there is any truth to the film at all (and there is supposed to be) then the whole M$ empire was built on $50,000 and a lie. Just seems wrong.

Love him or hate him, he gave us a world wide standard for computing. Travel to any country in the world and you can just jump right on the next computer and away you go. Even if it is in a foreign language, the icons are the same and with that at least you can get online and then it does not really matter.

The trouble is their practice and history has always been monopolistic. However that said they've made computing open to the masses.
Frankly I think MS are far more use than an EMP ;) ;D

Stupid EU commission thing. They can keep their nose out; I hope MS don't pay. If the money all went to those individuals who have "suffered" I wouldn't mind, but when it's just going into the coffers as a nice bonus to the income statement of the year it's a disgrace. This whole scenario has really got up my nose since it rose up in 2004.
