A tourist information website promoting a small Suffolk town has had to shut down after it received a barrage of thousands of classified US military emails.
Sensitive information including future flight paths for US Presidential aircraft Air Force One, military strategy and passwords.

The senior British officer at Mildenhall air force base sympathised with Mr Sinnott, but said that the problem was hard to solve.

Sqdn Leader Richard Fryer said in a letter: "Unfortunately there is no mechanism to forcibly prevent individuals, when in their private capacity, from sending e-mails to a particular address.

"We take the matter seriously but regret that there is little we can reasonably do." ........................So sorry you keep getting state secrets in your email but there is nothing we can do about it

Nice to see the Telegraph have been doing research about the aircraft that fly from mildenhall.
I don't live that far away from mildenhall and sometimes if i go into my back garden i can see the C-130s and KC-135s circling around

My dad gets pretty annoyed at all these 'security problems'. There is one going around about the insecurity of the new NHS system. My dad is one of the project managers for this project... he has even told me how the system works and I seem to understand it better than the media. It is also funny how they are saying that it is insecure when it doesnt even exist yet  ;D

Though, how can a slip-up like sending to a wrong email happen? Perhaps they will learn sooner or later that there are more secure means of transferring such information.... like, well, umm, secure transfer protocols. Perhaps now they will rethink.

Im sure he wont take any... He doesnt really work directly for them. He does however tell me about things like that... so much money wasted.

Though, his last project, getting the new Learn Direct database working (which I helped upload to the servers) was quite succesful. I was there on the week before the big release and everything went to plan within about an hour or so of the estimated time of getting everything working.

Bah. The country will fix itself or thus we might have to bring back Maggie.

So lets just hope this doesn't turn into something out of the movie Air Force One.
