Eventually, after the considerable amount of saving i've managed to get something booked.

Fly UK - Boston for a couple of nights (booked in at HI BOSTON, Downtown)

Fly Boston - Seattle for another couple of nights (Booked in at the Green Tortoise downtown!)

Then, its a Canadian Road trip, with TrekAmerica, leaving Seattle on the 6th July, heading British Columbia, Yoho national park, Banff National Park, Lake Louise, Jasper NP, Wells Grey PP, Cache Creek, Vancouver and back to seattle.

It is a short trip, but i thought that i'd get a "taster" before i book the "Trailblazer" trip for next year.

Overall, flights arn't too bad either, afternoon flights.

I've researched considerably into the hostels i'm staying at, both are receiving on average a 90% + rating on all major websites, so i'm more than happy with that. Plus, its a great way to meet people.

So a few nights in both Boston and Seattle, would anyone in specific off the top(s)! of their heads, reccomend anything? I've got a couple of guide books i'm working through too. And if anyone has any tips / advice regarding staying in hostels etc, please let me know.

Anything in particular about Seattle or the accomodation which made you think "other".

Not at all, Seattle is towards the top of my list of places to visit.


The others, Boston I spent a short time there didn't see much since it was a short stop, while the airport sucks the rest came across nice.

The other places, we used to visit for things like christmas and holidays when we lived in Canada.

Just re-read your reply, sorry mate. Misread it as "All those places look good, apart from Seattle".

Must be that bloody earthquake.  :P

That trip sounds like loads of fun! Seattle is great (somewhat full of crazy people, but still incredible), you should have a great time there.  If you have an extra day and you are really bored (I doubt you will be, but if you are) I have to suggest visiting the rain forests on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula.  I went to the Hoh rain forest and it was absolutely amazing. Seeing that, then visiting the beaches of the Pacific Ocean are outstanding.  We left in the morning and were able to get back in time for dinner in Seattle at Ivar's Acres of Clams (a later dinner, but still dinner).

Sounds like one serious adventure 8-)

Even if it's early, let me be the first to welcome you to the Pacific Northwest....

I've never been to the Banff National Park, though it is only a few hundred miles north of me. I've got friends who have been there, and the pictures they've shown my of the mountains up there are simply breathtaking... 8-)


If you're bored, stop in Spokane, Wa for a pint or two...
