Yup it is Burns' Night 8-)
I was delighted to hear that thousands of Scots living in America and many Americans are risking a $1000 fine to smuggle haggis into the US for tonight. Good on ya

So get out your book or poetry, pour a glass of whiskey and tuck in

I'm going to skip the haggis-part, but I'm going to pour me a nice Macallan 12Y single-malt tonight. Cheers! ;)

I once had a
Scottish friend who was something of a devout religious man, so much so that he had never once drank a single drop of alcohol.

So, I, the mutt
American, introduced him to Scots whiskey. I should be a Scottish saint by now!

Haggis is indeed some sort of stomach, filled up with all sorts of less eatable parts of the animal, boiled to a mass of delicious sludge... I think... ;D

Haggis is stocked in my local Branch of "Sainsbury's"...
I spot it every day...
...I REALLY must give it a try....especially as I am addicted to "Mr. Brain's Faggots"...
...made of similar/identical ingredients...(Offal!)...

Unfortunately, presentation doesn't come into it when serving Haggis, now matter how you dress it up it still looks awful, see Mic's photo (No offence Mic).
But it actually tastes quite nice, I had it a few years ago in my local which was run at the time by Scots.
I still prefer other things "Scotch" to haggis though, Scotch eggs, pancakes and shortbread to name but a few. :)
