It's gonna be a long night...

The local "weather dude" is saying that we're in for 3-6 inches of snow tonight, with 8-12 inches more during the day tomorrow. >:(

Question.....Would you shovel the snow four or five times (every three or four inches or so) or wait till it's done snowing, and break your back by shoveling it all at once?

I take that back. The "weather chick" says there's gonna be snow tonight. We get 8inches of snow per year MAX. It usually melts when it hits the asphault though. More like...slush.

When I used to have to dig my way out to go to work, if snow was expected overnight I'd shovel the first few inches before bedtime then get up a little early and do it again... why kill yourself?

well, i found it helps to lay out some ice melting salt BEFORE it begins to snow, and then shoveling after about 4 inches falls. Then every 5 or so inches after that......

Or you could pay that kid next door 5 bucks and he'll do it for you.  ;D ;D

Yeah, that's why I'm figuring it'll be a long night. It's starting to come down pretty well already, but the heavy stuff won't be here till after midnight.  Oh well, my area got off pretty light with the first two winter storm warnings this year, I guess it's just our turn. Time to make the coffee! ;)

Shovel????  Shovel?????

I don't shovel.......

I break out the snow blower instead.

You gotta work smarter, not harder.

We're supposed to get 8-12" by Sunday afternoon.

It snowed all day but it was fairly light and the first inch or so melted.  By 6 we had a decent inch on the ground.  By 8 it started to truly cut loose.  Now its almost 1 AM, I just came back from work, current road conditions.......what roads :P  About 5 inches already on the ground and this storms just gettin started.  Its been predicted we could see times where 5-10 inches PER HOUR are possible :o  Driving home it was nearly a white out.  The plows haven't even been out on the highways yet making driving home pretty much guess work as to if your actually on the road or not.  Surprisingly traction is not a problem...its not the right type of snow to make it slick, and theres no ice under it.  Didn't even have to use 4x4 at all.  Usually even a slight dusting causes my truck to slide a little...didn't feel it slide once the whole 20 mile drive.  But there was a couple times I found myself no longer on the road because its so covered and previous tracks are filled in a matter of a minute.  Pretty much everything is an blanket of white...or at least what little distance I could see :-/

Total expected by tomorrow night...depends on the source....looking at anywhere between 8-16 inches :o  Extremely rare to see this amount of snow this early for us...this is more late January early February accumulations :o

I wish we had snow like that. Last time I saw some snow was Januari 2006. And that was gone in a week or so. Would be nice to have a white Christmas again. It's a long time ago that happened.

Crash ;)
