Google Earth Flight Simulator

Postby pete » Mon Dec 17, 2007 1:23 pm

1st time I read about this:

Google Earth has a hidden Flight Simulator - If this is well known or BPB - sorry! ;)

http://www.eaa.org/news/2007/2007-12-13_google.asp

Specific details here

http://earth.google.com/intl/en/usergui ... index.html

Although it says to use Ctrl-Alt-A I had to use Ctrl-Windowskey-A

Just been trying it - it's mad - bad flight - but flying over realistic familiar terrain makes it worth the experience.

Hold a lot of potential I'd say.

Then we already have a tute on incorporating Google Earth scenery into FS

FSX Scenery Tutorial: Make Photo-real Ground Textures. It is very easy to create your very own high-resolution, custom (photo-real) ground textures. This document explains the concepts and techniques and illustrates the use of SBuilderX with which you can quickly and easily download aerial images and make this type of scenery. Luis F

FS will take a long time to load

When /if you ever start to fly yourself you will find that real flight takes a MUCH LONGER time to load  ;D

Weather checks, notams, pre flight planning, pre flight checks, starting,  checking, etc ...  ;)

I guess 4 engines complicates things somewhat eh charlie?  ;)

Yep. On a good day getting to engine start from reaching the aircraft can take half an hour or more. Thankfully the chap behind takes care of them.

And then the engines are SO far away.......must give you a crick in the neck  ;D

You have to go on a wander if you ever want to see them. You can hear them enough though! ;D

Yeah thats inded so true, you can add buildings trees etc,and fill up the city with 3d objects, but its a hudge work besides I have to paint every single Bmp to night textures  :o...as I said in other thread ,I rather to make something similar by using FSX-Kml ..
