Good morning all... :)

Gosh I did not know there was such a thing.  I very seldom look at the magazine racks anymore since I stopped collecting aviation magazines.  I found the same article was reproduced word for word in the next months issue of a different aviation magazine.

Is this magazine really technical and do I need a computer course to understand it?

I would be interested if it were written in laymen's terms as I am very interested in a home cockpit design of my own, would this be the magazine to purchase in that case?

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Doug,

Computer Pilot is wide ranging in what it covers.  Some is semi-technical... but not ever written for "geeks".  They do occaasionally have home cockpit buuilding articles.

One caveat is that such magazines (the other one available is from the UK... PC Pilot) are starting to move rather heavily toward FSX coverage and support.  Which I think is a mistake....since a HUGE user base is sticking with fs2004 due to the issues with FSX even after SPI.

If you are interested in home cockpits... stop down to OUR forum section too.   ;)

best,

Thanks John.. :)

Yes I have visited that forum many times and now I see Sean has a cockpit started.  I must see how he is making out with that project.  ;)

My original idea was to purchase an old Link Trainer or a used similarity,  however Links are hard to find and the cost of a newer similarity, well I can purchase another bug smasher for what they are asking.

The next time we go to the city I shall find a book store and take a look at one of those magazines.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

I have a PC Pilot subscription and like John said it's more about FSX then FS2004 (or older). Although the magazine has some good features (previews, reviews, flying lessons, freeware cd and more) I doubt if I will renew the subscription when it's time to do so. I understand that they want to write things about FSX (who doesn't) but they seem to forget that there are still a lot of people using the older versions. Out of the 100+ pages 80% is about FSX and related software and the rest is advertisements and usable stuff for FS2004.

Crash ;)
