4. Eating Mince Pies on the first day of christmas is forbidden

5. In Scotland, if someone knocks on the door and asks if he could use your toilet, you have to let him in

6. A pregnant women may pee or poo anytime and anyplace, including in a policeman's helmet

7. The head of any dead whale found on british lands, automatically is property of the english king while the tail goes to the queen.

Sadly my least favourite Scotsman never decided to visit the city of York with a bow and arrow... ::)

1. It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament
What is the punishment?

2. It is an act of treason to post a stamp with the image of the queen upside down
What if the envelope is upside-down when applying?

3. In Liverpool it is illegal for women to be topless except when working in a tropical fish store
While they're actually in the store and why is it acceptable to wear nothing below? Do they shower/bathe and sleep at home always covering the torso?

4. Eating Mince Pies on the first day of christmas is forbidden
If there are other varieties available, this law can be extended through the rest of Christmas.

5. In Scotland, if someone knocks on the door and asks if he could use your toilet, you have to let him in
What's the result if you have an outhouse?

6. A pregnant women may pee or poo anytime and anyplace, including in a policeman's helmet
What must she do if she can't include the helmet?

7. The head of any dead whale found on British lands, automatically is property of the english king while the tail goes to the queen.
I am not touching that one!

8. It is illegal not telling the tax inspector what you don't want him to know, however it is legal not telling him what you don't mind him knowing
This really taxes the imagination.

9. It is not allowed to enter the house of parliament in a harness
Is that because the front of the horse usually has the harness?

10. It is legal to kill a scotsman within the city walls of york as long as he is carying a bow and arrows
Sadly my least favourite Scotsman never decided to visit the city of York with a bow and arrow
He's evidently well aware of the law.

There is a website I think it is called "Stupid Laws" or something like that and it collects idiotic laws from around the world. My favourite is in one Province in Canada it is illegal to push a moose out of a moving aircraft ;D

One of my favourites ...... In West Virginia being drunk is defined as someone who can not hold onto the pavement.

Very funny ;D

My State (Connecticut) has a few silly/strange/odd laws.

The only one I can remember off the top of my head, is that it's illegal to "walk" across the street in Hartford while doing a hand-stand! :o

I've been giving this some thought. It sounds stupid but how about a bullwhip?

I'm sure there must have been good reasons for these laws when they were first introduced.

Some of them are actually quite sensible - what's ridiculous is the fact that they're actually written laws. You'd probably get the attention of police officers anywhere in the world if you were walking across the road on your hands (which is a silly thing to do, really), but I'm not sure it'd be a law that's set in stone, anywhere but in Hartford, that is!

If people just used a little of that rare commodity Common Sense then we wouldn't need 90% of these idiotic laws. I mean who takes a couple of tonnes of intellectually challenged burger meat on legs sky-diving?
