More than 3,000 stuck in SA mine

More than 3,000 workers are trapped deep underground in a South African gold mine after an accident blocked a deep shaft, officials have said.

Well they said that 300 could be lifted out every hour so they could theoretically get em all out in around 10 hours. Thats not so bad, I mean you can survive 3 days on water alone  :-/

Hopefully, as they say, there is enough ventilation down there (both for "fresh" air, but also to remove 3000 peoples worth of CO2), and enough water, as 30-40degC will not be pleasant at all.
