I wonder what her dog's going to do with 12 million smackeroonies..... ;D ::)

The things people do these days.... when I eventually kick the bucket, I'm going to leave my fortune to my assorted collection of potted plants... ;) :D

When, in the usual manner this ends up in court, I want to see the dog take the stand.
One woof for yes, two woofs for no.

"Yes your honour, the dog licking itself in that manner is normal"
"I wish I could do that".
"Well your honour, get to know the dog first and he may let you".

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

She left twelve million dollars to her dog and nothing to her two children? If I blow my last breath I will leave my fortune (100,000,000 Crash-a-Coins) to anyone who wants it..........

Crash ;) (hasn't got a penny to scratch his ...)

I don't see how this could possibly be a surpise to anyone.  Helmsley isn't known for being overly kind or generous.

I'm sure it's mainly to provide care for the little mutt now that she's gone.  My only questions is who is going to get what's left after he dies.  If it were me, I might have to leave the front door open accidently and let Fido go for a walk out in the street... :D

There are plenty of examples of spoiled little rich kids who have never done a day's work in their useless lives.

I didn't realise you'd been keeping up with "The Further Adventures Of Paris 'Yo-Yo Knickers' Hilton" Doug ;) ;D

When I saw the post title, Alrot, I thought you were remarrying... :o ;D

As to the Helmsley affair, I agree with Hagar; if she was considered of sound mind (no matter what kind of screaming those sounds actually were), it was her will. Of course, the problem is that it rather brings to question if she ever was of sound mind.

::)

I have no idea who this woman is but I don't really understand your reasoning here. Those kids are not forced to go to court over this. Why not accept it & get on with their lives, or is that no longer an option? I think that unless there is reason to doubt the legality of a will it should not be possible to contest it. Otherwise, what is the point of making a will in the first place?

It's never an option when the dolar values get sizeable.  Even if the will was bulletproof it'll be contestable because some lawyer somewhere will be willing to take the case for free knowing they only get paid if they win.  And a lawyer who's case load is light at the moment has nothing to lose.

Leona Helmsley was the Evil Queen of New York real estate, not sorry to hear she's dead, ding dong, etc.... and that poor dog deserves every penny... he had to let that woman hold him and touch him... cringe!!
