NASA Shuttle to Launch Luke Skywalker's LightsaberOk, who did Lucas have to pull strings with to get THIS one?

nice to see where our tax money is going, parade a 30 year old piece of plastic around the country and then blast it to a 130 billion dollar stater of the art, high tech space station, using a mutibillion dollar cutting edge space shuttle.

I doubt our taxes are paying for this. Instead I'd bet someone is paying NASA quite a fee for the privelage.

im a star wars fan... the origionals are brilliant, ep 1 and 2 not so great. ep 3 was ok but the origionals i love and watch now and then amongst my other films

Not disputing that... but they've 'milked' the frachise to breaking point... sadly an all-too-common occurence these days...

Can they not just leave the star wars franchise to rest in peace now? 6 massive films, several thousand spin-offs and another, 30-minute, made-for-tv movie in the pipeline... I call that overkill....
