..Hi all. I'm down at my uni for a couple of weeks doing this trial, it basically introduces you to uni, shows you all the referencing etc and also researching. Its been great and prepares me to start in sept.

For this last part of the course, i've got to do a researching project related on the LABOUR PARTY VOTES, compared to 1997 to 2001 with both the major national election results, BUT also results for each constisuency. (SP?) I need "NUMBERS" or Stats. to plot graphs etc.

I've had a good look through the internet and researching centres, but i'm afraid my mind is a wee bit blank. I've ran out of sources.

Would anyone be willing to PINPOINT me in the right direction towards suitable data/Statistics

Many thanks, in advanced.

James

Maybe you should pay a visit to the local library.  Ask the librarian for help.

I haven't got a clue where to look for stats James, but if it'll help get the ball rolling I think I may have voted Labour in 97, but not voted for them in 01. So thats one person you can mark of the list, just another 60,776,238 to contact.

How long did you say you had?

:P

Lol TSC..

I'd say email your local MP and/or the labour party central office.. they'd be glad to boast tell you about their victories and margins.

I wouldn't bother asking the tories or the lib dems though..

I won't vote for politicians on principle. Makes voting in an election tricky...

The sooner we have a military coup the better...

Oh, no, I forgot, our new Prime Minister's been in control of the cash for the last 10 years and has cut the defence budget every year since*. And they're all in Iraq and A-ghan! Doh! ;D No coup then! ;) :D ;D

On a serious note, the following link has results (including vote numbers/candidate) by constituency for the 1997, 2001 and some of the 2005 results:
