Not surprising. Fairfax County is stinkin' rotten with liberals. I used to live about an hour west of there, in rural Virginia. I always hated going anywhere near "the city," as we called it, referring to Washington, DC. Fairfax ain't Washington, but you can smell the political correctness from there. Fairfax is so PC, you have to mow your grass if your neighbor mows his because it will not put forth a pretty picture if his grass is short and yours is long. You can't park your own car in your own driveway overnight, again, because it won't look pretty. They have their heads so far up their tokhuses there, they don't know day from night. The problem of head-in-rectum disease being so common to the East Coast is why I moved to Nevada almost three years ago. We have the gall to own guns here-- and use them, as well. How unPC!!!










I love Walmart, murjax. Right now, I have to drive 55 miles round trip to go to one. In a few months, one will open less than two miles from me. What's not to like? Right now, I have to pay double what Waltermart charges for a can of soup at the local grocery store. And wait in long lines while over half the registers are closed. Can't wait until about Labor Day!!

Rootbeer, your opinion about liberals and democrats is not appreciated on my side and maybe not even in the rest of this forum.

Maybe your Wal-Marts in Nevada aren't the cheap garbage that it is over here. Here in Florida Wal-Mart is a place where all the wierd people go and all they have to buy is cheap garbage. If you have anymore to say about Wal-Mart please post it in the "New Store" thread.

I'm with ya, Kat. PC is for gutless wimps. It's all about not wanting to hurt someone else's feelings. It's just a cheap way to not say something that should be said. I have very little hair left on my mis-shapen cranium. I really don't care if someone calls me bald. I've grown past that. Under the rules of PC, I'm "follically-challenged." I feel so much better now; I wasn't called "bald." I don't have a single strand more hair on my head, but my feelings are intact. I'm fat as a pig, too. I need to lose about 80 pounds to be where I should be. I really don't care if someone calls me a fat tub o' lard. What crap! A spade needs to be called a spade. Dancing around the issue produces nothing...


I had a short, direct, three-word reply for Bjorn, but good taste does not allow me to put it here. Arnold Schwarzenegger used the phrase in the original "Terminator" movie when he needed clothes. He had just come through the time portal. He was buck nekkid. He demanded of the two filthy cretins: "Your clothes-- give them to me." The cretins disagreed, but were soon quickly persuaded to provide them, although not voluntarily. Y'all remember what he said, don't ya?


I don't know what Waltermart sells in Florida, murjax. I figured they sold pretty much the same things in all their stores in the US because we all need pretty much the same things. I doubt you will find winter parkas in a Florida Waltermart, but who knows? I usually buy just my groceries there. For other things I go to the store that deals with that item in a more complete fashion. For instance, the Hardware section at Walterville is usually not as complete as what you'll find at a real hardware store, simply because they can't afford to stock a lot of esoteric items. This is why we have Tru-value, Ace or Home Depot. Still, this is America and you can find virtually anything and everything you want. I remember living in Italy in the early 1970s. It wasn't so easy back then...

You know what, I'm thinking of going over there to Virginia and start doing high fives and hand shakes in that particular school. Then, when I'm confronted with the law, I'm gonna give them the following remark to see how they respond:

Also, if our pants hang too low, the Vice principal personally gives us a rope to use as a belt. Oh, and if we where anything "inapporpriate" we have to change into our stinky gym uniforms for the remainder of the day. One kid got introuble cause he wore a shirt that said "Thats a big shrimp" on the back.....

That I can understand. I clearly understand the need to establish school rules regarding what appropriate and what's not. For example: if someone comes to school dressed up like the Trench-Coat Mafia or wears clothing that depicts sexuality or profanity, then that person deserves to be dealt with accordingly. I also understand the need to establish rules against what I know to be "inappropriate touching" [ie: publically slapping a girl's posterior, touching people in a way that can promote a violent reaction, etc.]; however, I will never understand why people would establish a set of rules against something as innocent as a hug or a high five when it clearly NOT considered to be INappropriate nor is capable of promoting a violent reaction.

By the way, have you noticed the poll posted with the article? Take a look at how many people voted against the no-hugging-holding-hands-and-high-five rule.

According to the poll, over 90,000 people have voted and over 90% of them hated the rule. At least I can rest assured that the majority still has some common sense.
