I use my cellphone. The battery goes down. I plug it in for several hours during the day and for overnight when I am home. It shows a full charge for a while, then it goes down to just one or two charge bars with little to no use. What's going on? Is what I am seeing the mystical "battery memory" that I have heard about but have never had fully explained? Is Cameron out there? Can he explain it to me, please?

Is it a new phone, if so it takes a few charge discharge cycles for the battery to gain capacity. Also unlikely to be battery memory effect. That only happens with NiCad's. That sort of battery has not been used in cellphones for about 5 years.............or is it that old?

Let the battery go empty. Then charge it again full. If you charge your battery to much during the day and night it goes empty quick (is my experience). I charge my battery maybe two hours a day in the car and that is it. I can use it for the rest of the day and night without the energy bar goign down rapidly.

Sounds like the battery's packed it in. I had this happen on my mum's 7-year old brickphone, and my sister's 5-year old Nokia 3310 (she wont let go of it... technophobe...), and on my old BenQ P50 smartphone. Each time, a new battery (

It's an LG VX3300. I've only had it since August 11, 2006. I try not to use it too much because I only have a 300-minute per month plan. I hate the thing, anyway. It's like a millstone around my neck. I keep it charged up because I am out in the desert between KNFL and KLSV most of the time. Not a good place for the battery to go kaput...
