I was starting to wonder if  Reid Stowe would never get his dream underway, but it looks like Anne finally slipped out of NYC just a few days ago just when I'd stopped paying attention. ;D
Things are going well, except for getting shooed out of a live-fire exercise area by the Navy. But getting off-course a bit is no big deal when you are not going anywhere in particular: Stowe is attempting to sail for 1000 consecutive days, without resupply or refueling, and out of sight of land.  He and his mate will be wandering the oceans of the world for almost three years, if all goes according to plan.

Reid's sister lived here at the loft for a while, and I got to meet Reid and go on a day sail in his terrific boat in the Hudson a couple of years ago. He's a wonderfully crazy and visionary genius, a nice guy and a very good sailor... as well as being absolutely unwavering in his ambition to make this voyage. I think he'll make it.

They are uplinked to the Web via satellite and should be able to continue 'casting their log entries for quite some time... check out the site if you are curious. You can even e-mail them a greeting. ;D

I think I'll stick to the skies, and leave the seas to them. ;)

Good day Sean... :)

I think your friend has a wonderful idea.

There are two thing I always wanted to do and will never probably do them.

Gosh this gives me an idea for a new post in the "Cafe" forum.   ;)

See you there.   :)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
