Mini RC Helicopters

Hi,

I have myself a DragonFly RC helicopter.  I can fly it aoubt reasonably well, and recently I've bought a brushless motor, brushless speed controller, and a lithium polymer battery for it.  The stuff is still coming, and I think I'll get great performance out of it.

But, to the point of this post, I'm very interested in micro helicopters which you can fly around in a house.  I've been looking at two helicopters, which I might want to get and was wondering if anyone in this forum has experience with them.  These are them:

I want to know not what their crashing tolerance is, but how well the motors and battery fair.  Like do they burn out easily, or do they stop working after a few flights, that kind of thing.

I want to know, basically the same stuff as the Micron V2.

I'm interested in the Micron, because I know you have full control of it, which I'm used to in an RC helicopter.  I'm interested in the Havoc, because I'll have friends who want to fly the Micron, or DragonFly because their big and cool (and they will inevitably crash them), so I can easily hand them the havoc, and they can cause relatively little damage.

I don't know anything about the Micron, other than that I want one.  :P

However, I do know a bit about the Havoc. It is nearly indestructible, battery lasts about 6-7 minutes per charge, and I've never known one to burn out or die. It is possible to damage the rotor blades, but I've never done it. The tail rotor is the most common part to break, but it comes with one or two extras. It isn't exactly a real helicopter, it has no swash plate. Blade pitch is controlled by some process which I don't fully understand that involves the weighted upper rotor. The only controls that it has are throttle and rudder (tail rotor), but once trimmed out correctly you can get it to do about anything. It's the perfect indoor flyer, in fact you really can't fly it outside. Even the slightest breeze will overpower it and blow it out of range, which is only 30 feet. And for about $30US, how can you go wrong? And, no I don't own stock in Air Hogs or anything like that, I just really love this heli.

I really want the Micron especially, I could even mount a mini camera on it, and spy around on people.  That'd be really cool.

Anyone else in this forum into RC stuff, and possibly has the Micron?

I have or had a Dragonfly R/C heli until a breeze caught it and blew it into a tree and it hit and cut off a 3 inch thick limb!, but destroyed and rotor head and only part that there is no replacements for , but now its hanging up in my room, and I fly real planes now

I want to get that cheap mini one.  I saw someone playing with it last week and it looks like fun, especially since i can just sit here in my desk chair and fly it around the room and torture the dog and cat

Sorry I can't advise you about the Micron, but don't get the Air Hogs Havoc Heli. My dad has one, and after a good play around for a month or so it would start cutting out when you apply full throttle and didn't have the power that it once had.

Those copters are nice and all but if you want real heli performance in a small package i would look for something like the Align Trex series. My dad has one and its realy good quality, mind you it is more for in the garden than in the house. +you will have to buy your radio equipment and stuff so it isnt very cheap.
Personnely im started on full 50 size Hirobo Sceadu Evo but i still need to buy the radio equipment and other small stuff for it.

thats natural for many motor-powered toys.
