Flying Around The World!

I was going to put this in the "Real Aviation" forum as it obviously addresses aviation history in the making. I thought it may do better here as even though it deals with real aviation, it also is a current hot topic in the aviation community and is something pretty interesting that is happening right now. As you can see, Microsoft Flight Simulator is sponsoring Barrington on his round the world flight which started on March 23, 2007 and is scheduled to touch down on April 30, 2007 as he completes his journey. GPS will be tracking him and if you click around, you can see where Barrington currently is. He just left Farmingdale's Republic Airport (KFRG) yesterday. Too bad, I would have tried to get to see him. Anyway, it is kind of interesting.

Good heads-up, there... I'd forgotten about this.
Best of luck to him- he's gonna have a great time. ;D

Thanks for this post.   This is really cool, and something all us Flyers, real or otherwise, like to see.  Good luck Barrington!  We're all with you.

This guy is from Miami and I think he took off from Opa-Locka Airport, which is sort of in the middle of Miami-Dade County.  Too bad local news here is so bogged down in the usual crap; I have yet to see any mention of this.  Maybe I missed something, OK, but still would like to see local news doing a daily update on this, or at least something.  This is the sort of thing we need more news of.

I read about it in the Stars And Stripes. Ironically, it was the first issue i've seen in a few months... ;D
