Too bad I can't receive BBC 1 and 2 on my satellite. Only BBC World and BBC Prime.

Crash ;)

Thanks for the heads up. About the second time I've watched TV this year. Not bad but as usual the music was too loud & totally unnecessary. I missed half of what the softly-spoken veterans were saying. ::) If Wikipedia is correct it wasn't entirely accurate either. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Nazaire_Raid

I'm sure I've seen a film or documentary on this raid some years ago but I can't find any details about it.

Nice to see the Western Lady II on the program aswell, it's one of our local boats running between Torquay & Brixham - She is one of only five surviving of the 650 that were built during the war. There are two here, Western Lady III & Western Lady IV.

I think a lot of people go on them, but have no idea how rare they are ::)

Cheers,

TSC.

If Wikipedia is correct it wasn't entirely accurate either. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Nazaire_Raid

Remember that Wikipedia articles can be written by just about anyone, so I wouldn't trust it to give 100% facts.

It was an interesting programme though. Certainly put the war effort into perspective.

Thanks for the info Doug, guess I'll nip down & pop across the bay on one soon, before they disappear. I'll see what the weather is like in the week.

Be a shame if they can't be saved. Get some photos.
