Wish his invention would die right with him.

Too many lazy, remote tipping, fat couch potatoes on this planet.

I did do a quick 5 minute rotate, crop and edit of the image I found so it looked a tad better and had no background. I did not spend allot of time looking on Google for a better shot or updated version of the joke.

5 minutes of searching in sofa, under furniture and final retrieval in adjacent kitchen -- at onset, television was under 10 feet away! :o
(No, it wasn't I ;D)

Can anyone remember the good old days when television receivers had tuning controls, volume controls, and colour controls, etc, on the front of the set...?
...Joy!....>>>

Image

No confusing gadgets with dead batteries resulting in a blank screen and no sound, and with no other possibility of encouraging the set to burst into life... :'(...!
.
..and that's assuming that you know how to operate the darned thing in the first place... :-[...!

Paul...How I love old-fashioned Dials and Switches.... 8-)...!

Color controls on the front of that unit? What were they for, shades of gray?
Perhaps you mean the sharpness/contrast controls? :-?

:) So was Zenith who invented the control remote  ;D, I didn't knew this , But of course I remember this space command control and this old TV sets, they work with ultrasound , I remember a woman who brough me like ten times her tv set because It turned on by it self ,Turn out to be the bell of her clock on her night table  ;D when she wasn't there ,It rings ,making a high frequency sound ,and interpreted for the tv as Turn me on.....ahhh those times , no epprom , no miscon circuitary ,all the basic ,It was much easier to fix ,this old ones..
