Spangles eh?

A little bit of triv here. If you look at a photo, or Simshed's excellent Shorts Tucano cockpit/VC, you will see lots of square black buttons dotted around the cockpit with illuminated writing on them. Apparently some RAF chap developing the Tincan for the service saw a resemblance, and they've been called "spangles" ever since.

I'm very interested in History, I have a big box of ww1 and ww2 cartoon clippings going back as far as 1913. I mean to sort them all out into date ::)
