It says Judi Dench died today.

Nothing on BBC News though.

Vandalism....theyve cleared it up now.....its incredible it managed to get past the stringent screening measures they have on that site.

You can post anything on that site without trouble for a little while. However if they find it they trace your IP i believe.  For fun I edited a page and added something totally random, just to see if it would let me. I deleted it before anyone whould notice however.

My friend edited an article on 'greatness' once to basically praise himself.  It stayed up there for 5 hours before being removed ;D

they put up lies about my hometown on there, I edited it and then the next day is was back to the way it was...

Someone edited the James Bond entry a while back. The day that Danial Craig was appointed the role, some die hard Bondy entered this date as Bonds death. It stayed up long enough for the news to get hold of it.

I remember once a story my brother told me when he got home from college. His class has to write an article on something or someone (can't remember what though), and he and his friends knew that a lot of people would just copy and paste information from Wikipedia. My brother's friend went onto Wikipedia and edited the article on the subject they needed to write on (e.g. added things in paragraphs like "he also had a big nose" and "he liked to wear a tutu", stupid things like that), knowing that people would copy that over. ;D
