Hurrah. Something to celebrate over the new year...

The Queen has directed that he have his award rescinded! Justice at last - he never deserved it in the first place. Too many awards are handed out to any sportsman who wins anything nowadays (if David Beckham or Steven Gerrard ever become "Sirs" I shall leave the country), and an egotistical such as he did not deserve one in the first place. There are many more deserving cases sitting out in the middle east this Christmas.

Hamed, 32, of Dore, Sheffield, served 16 weeks of a 15-month term last year for seriously injuring Anthony Burgin in the crash in Sheffield in May 2005.

But Archer only shagged some prostitutes and committed purjury... at least he doesn't drive like a ****wit ;D Oh and he is a member of the Conservative Party and therefore doing what all politicians seem to do :o ;D
I think that a lot of the awards given out since Blair came to power have been VERY iffy.

Seem that this government gives out honors and awards like mince pies at Christmas............at least the mince pies are "risk assessed" first.

I agree, however Mr Archer just messes around with his own lot, rather than being a complete pilchard and shoplifter in the oxygen-shop...

And saving the best till last...

Ken Macdonald QC, the head of the agency which will decide whether anyone should be prosecuted over the cash-for-honours affair, has been given a knighthood. Sir Ken's award will raise further questions about the independence of any criminal prosecution relating to allegations that businessman who lent money to Labour were promised peerages.

Now how brilliant is that. ;D

I believe the policeman heading the inquiry has also just been promoted and/or received an award also.
