I guess it is a big day over there. ::) I don't see the purpose of doing the 1937-2006 thing though. I mean he was a criminal. Why do that for him? :-/

Let's review Saddam's record:

1. Ordered the killings of over thousands of Kurds.
2. Was responsible for the deaths of nearly 200 Shiites [probably more].
3. Created mass graves that covered the Iraqi landscape.
4. Innocent children were brutally totured under Saddam's rule.

And last but not least...

5. Regardless of the fact that the human rights activists wanted to prevent the execution [which I clearly understand], the Shiites [which is the majority in terms of population] wanted him dead from the start [which the human rights activists clearly understand].

So, yeah he got what was coming for him in much the same way the Nazis did at the end of WW2.

im starting to get sick of people talking about how unfair a trial he got, for what he did hes lucky he got a damn trial, imo he should have been givin to the shiites and hung by his toes like mussolini

I wish the US would adopt a policy that said after receiving the death sentence you must die within less than 30 years. Kudos for carrying out your sentence in a proper time frame and not completely adopting the American Justice system.
