The Christmas Tornado

That's what the news is calling what hit Daytona Beach, FL and my alma mater Embry-Riddle today. If you want to see what happens when a tornado takes a hold of several dozen Cessnas, this is it:

Thankfully, there were only minor injuries from the tornado. The school was on break so the dorms on campus were closed. They're saying they want to be up and running again by the time classes start again in a couple weeks, including the flight line. I just don't foresee that happening. I'll be in the area next weekend so I'll see be able to see the whole mess for myself, though right now they're not letting anyone on campus (and for good reason).

Yeah this sucks, they say about 50 out of the 65 planes were damaged plus the maintnance hangar was destroyed

fortunately the school was planning to replace the planes next year w/ G1000 172

It sucks for the kids in DB, it really makes me glad I'm going to Prescott
