Did you catch the tail number?  Where were you at?

No tail Number sorry they were fast movers. my location Near Eglin AFB KVPS if you want to check it out on the FS. the 33rd Fighter wing is going to be the second wing to get ther Raptors after the wing at Edwards. my brother said that he read in the eglin news journal that eglin is going to be one of the wings to train the pilots on f22 taticts. also heard they did some games between the F15 and the F22s and the F15 never stood a chance not on kill was made by a f15. i guess it will have to hand over the title.

The reason I ask is because that may have been the first of the Lot 5 aircraft, which we just got a huge pat on the back for due to a flawless integration of a redesigned system that saved everyone (us, Lockheed, and the Air Force) a TON of money.  But if you're at Eglin then that wasn't the plane.

also heard they did some games between the F15 and the F22s and the F15 never stood a chance not on kill was made by a f15. i guess it will have to hand over the title.

The kill ratio was something like 200+ to 1.  And the only reason the "1" happened was because the F22 pilot was pushing his tactics and flying well outside the prefered engagement envelope.  Or at least that's the rumor I heard.

It'll be interesting to see how this aircraft gets fielded.  I've heard the plane's capabilities work much better with the existing fleet of non LO aircraft than originally expected, essentially making the whole of the force greater than the sum of its parts.  The AF is rather excited about it, which is good because it seems the JSF delay will have them buying more F22s than originally expected.

I see them now and then at Nellis. They are somethin' else. If I had an unzipper, I'd flit around in one of the several I have still zipped-- if I knew how to install them into FS...

Try Ultimate zip...and there are plenty of places that tell you how to install them into FS...

Cause they couldn't have the F15 performing at all well against the F22. It would put egg on some faces to have a plane capable of taking on the one supposed to be replacing it.

Computer sims give the F-22 a 10:1 against the best the Russians can currently offer.  Of course, there's no way to know how accurate that is.

Considering the F-15 is the best air supremacy fighter currently flying, (and possibly ever, although that would sure start a fiery debate!) I again see the military trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.  Of course they should stay ahead of the game, but they're practically jumping offsides.  Hopefully they won't dump all the F-15s too quickly, I concede I don't know how soon they are to be replaced.

Well with all Lo aircraft im sure if an F-15 Could catch him from the side or rear the radar and the Aim-9 Could get a lock. they still got jet engines and i hear russian aircraft got one hell of a long range IR System. something you dont hear are goverment talk about too much.

I don't think anyone would argue the F22, or any aircraft, is invincible.

We may be also be able to see them as the US has reportedly allowed IAF (Indian Air Force a sneek preview). ;)

I highly doubt the US would be willing to export it, or that any other government could realistically afford it, never mind RAF, just going to have to adapt to the lesser fighter :P ;)
