of the cooking variety that is.

Gas traders start giving it away

A glut of natural gas supplies in Britain has seen prices collapse and left traders having to pay for it to be taken off their hands.

Wholesale spot gas prices turned negative on Tuesday as supplies surged in from the new Langeled pipeline from Norway and mild weather reduced demand.

Britain's gas storage capacity is 96% full so firms need to offload supplies.

Now this is a surprise. ::)
Because domestic gas bills are based on longer-term forward prices, consumers will have to wait for big reductions.

Quite right Kris. ::)
Up with the rockets and down with mega parachutes. Hmmm.

One thing is for certain the prices may dip, but only very slightly or perhaps it means the next year's price rises will only be 4 times above inflation instead of 5 or 6.  >:(

I met a foreign student at uni on Saturday. He told me he was shocked at how the UK charges its citizens for things here and that it was much too expensive and unreasonable. ::) Well what could I say? :-X
