what is it with people?

Well this morning my mom leaves the house to find someone (I think I know who as the paint mark is a giveaway) has backed into and quite badly damaged the front of her car.
Now ok accident's happen, in this case its a legal requirement to leave insurance details and inform the owner that the accidents happend. However this person has just driven off and left my mum without her car and having to use mine which although she is insured to drive, hasn't done before and is nervous as hell.
It now looks like not only will we have to deal with the insurance to get it fixed (which I am not entirely certain this woman has) but also the police as by leaving the scene of an accident she's broken the law.
So my week off has just been blown out of the water. >:( >:( :-/ >:(

Hi Craig...!

You and your Mum have my greatest sympathy...!

It is a legal requirement that a driver reports an accident to the police, or leaves his/her details at the scene...
..but this rarely happens...
..so you are left with the cost..
..while the arsole gets away...!

Can you, me, and your Mum get together and fry the buggar...
...sounds cool to me... ;)...!

Cheers Craig...!

Paul...parking his bike on the pavement...out of harms way...!

I'm afraid this is nothing unusual these days Craig. I wish you luck but it's quite likely the police won't want to know as nobody was injured. Even if this person you suspect is insured & admits liability*, the insurance company won't want to know unless you can find a witness.

*The insurance companies' own guidelines to policyholders plainly state never to admit liability even if you're obviously guilty.

Try that trick in Germany and it is more than your life is worth. It is called Fahrerflucht. Leaving the screen of an accident NO MATTER HOW SMALL, even dinking the car next to yours with your own door. If there is a mark you are liable. The best/worst thing about this, is if you are seen leaving people will not think twice about reporting your number. Crime in Germany goes like this:

Fahrefl

thanks guys, your right the police arn't interested really.
The main thing is that its been reported so if the person responsible then tries to blame us, we've covered ourselves with the insurance and police as soon as it was noticed.
Prob going to cost about

In Birmingham murder comes much further down the list. ;D

When we were in the police station, some guy came in to report he had been attacked. The woman at the desk asked what had happend. He just turns round and said he was shot. Gotta love Birmingham. ;D

hmm... my mom had a problem like that, only a bit more serious. well a lot serious, but it ended the same.

the one time my mom traveled out of the country, to London, and her friend gets hit by some "bloke" on the passenger side. no one caught the guy, and "friend" is alright. but my mom comes home with a nice parting gift, a broken ankle and shattered breastbone.

she's afraid to go to london again...

stupid blokes. should make the lot illegal :P

That's no good, sorry to hear you've lost one of your forms of transport Craig, and he/she didn't even have the decency (I think that's spelt right...?) to apologise...
