Actually, Fathers Day is today in the US, as I thought. You guys had me confused, so I googled it.http://www.holidays.net/father/ ;)

This is a good thing considering that I just bought my dad a gift.

Not that I'm complaining but Father's Day is a fairly recent tradition. It originated in America where it was proclaimed an official public holiday in 1966, finally becoming law in 1972. I don't know when it was first introduced in the UK but it's not a public holiday here or in other parts of the world. AFAIK

It seems a tad strange to me that a public holiday is celebrated on a Sunday (3rd Sunday in June) when the majority of fathers wouldn't be working anyway. ::) :P

PS. My daughter generally sends me a card & a little gift. She's always been good at remembering things like that but it's looked on here as just another scam by the greeting card companies. ::)

I've had a great Fathers day, these two cards from my daughter, along with being presented with breakfast in bed by her, a bowl of Frosties and a Can of Lager(!)  :o ;D

Aw, she's only 9.  ;D

(Used the CD case to stop the cards falling off my keyboard whilst I took the pictures, - could'nt be bothered to move out off my chair!)  :-[ ;D

Since my dad checked out of this world fairly early in my life and I'm not one ( maybe someday, though ::) ), I also extend best wishes to those who are.

Out of my five lovely children, two of them actually remembered Father's Day...

...especially one of my favourite Daughter-In-Law's, who, knowing me very well, and my general outlook on life, sent me this excellent card...>>>

....Shame the two lovely ladies on the right did not appreciate my outstanding attributes... ;)...!
LOL...!

Paul...Now you see it...now you don't... ;)... ;D...!

LMAO....good one!

When I was in High School, I was sitting outside a HS football game on a bench with my girlfriend.

A flasher walked up and did his duty.  :o

I about fell off the bench laughing at my girlfriends reaction. She calmly looked down and said, "Well, God Bless Tiny Tim!"  :o

The poor man got this dejected look on his face, threw his trench coat around himself and walked off mumbling to himself.

;D

Hagar, you should celebrate in Germany, it is a bank holiday here, 25th May.  Shame I still had to work. Can you believe that people STILL want to fly when others should be at home with their feet up? :-/
