Yippee! I'm not the only one that peruses PC magazine archives. I get lost looking through old issues of Compute! magazine, Pc World, and PC Magazine.
I thought it was a little bit of deja-vu when Apple announced they were switching to Intel processors. Back in the 1980's they had a card which allowed running both MAC/OS an MS-DOS in the same machine. If I remember the MAC/OS had to on first and off last for the thing to work.

I own both. One computer i built myself (PC obviously) and an Ibook G4.

each has their ups and owns, and i use both equally. i use the laptop on road trips because it fits perfectly between the seats in my truck. and i have an aux port so i can plug my laptop into my truck and listen to itunes.

My PC plays all my games and runs my 24/7 server. I love the thing to death. dual monitors, 5 speakers, my X52, etc... the only thing it cant do  is overclock (damn mobo!!) not im not complaining [mumbleunderbreath]damn mobo[/mumbleunderbreath] :P

i can vouch for either, hoever i do lean towards the mac side just because of the interface of the OS, and i've yet to see it crash that i didnt do on purpose.

-------------------------------------------------------------

ok here's the biggest catch, since mac has 90% something less virusses than windows, im suprised why dont people fork over the extra hundred dollars for that much needed security?

but when in rome....               ?

Mac's are great machines.  But people who like to do things like, I don't know, run software would be better served by a PC.  But if you're not looking to run software you can't beat a Mac.

So, just so I understand you, a MAC is most suitable as a paperweight or doorstop?  ;D

I think he means that the Mac is better as a paperweight while the PC is best suited as a doorstop. ;D

The only think I've ever liked about a Mac was Imovie...and then my teacher got this new program that is basicaly Imovie combined with Photoshop 8)  I loved it even more.

But for everything I do at home...only a PC will ever suit my wants and needs.  Macs tend to freak out when I open more then a couple windows...my PC just says BRING IT ON :P
